If you're a leader or manager of a healthcare group currently on Sosido, you already know this: once your community is set up, you don't have to do anything. Sosido's automatic features foster collaboration, celebrate achievements, and share expertise among your group's members. Without making any demands on staff time, Sosido just works.
But what if you want to do more? What if you want to make (more) hay with your Sosido community in the coming year? We have some tips!

Whether you represent a large professional organization or a smaller specialty group, here are some tips to maximize the value of your Sosido community:
1. Seriously, It's Okay To Do Nothing
Healthcare professionals and the staff who support them are incredibly busy, which is why Sosido was designed to work seamlessly in the background. With automatic tracking of member publications, email digests summarizing activity, and private Q&A forums, Sosido delivers valuable content to your members without requiring time and effort on your part. So when you're reading the tips below, feel no pressure. Doing nothing really is okay - Sosido has you covered.
2. Check That Your Members Are Up to Date
We recommend you update your members on Sosido at least once a year, or more often if you have new members joining throughout the year. Not sure when you last updated your list? Want a list of the current members in your community on Sosido, so you can add/change from there? Contact us. Learn more.
3. Review Your Default Knowledge Sources
When your group's community was first set up on Sosido, we worked with you to choose a set of default knowledge sources to be featured in your members' weekly email digests—journals, podcasts, keyword searches, etc. These curated feeds appear in the “Articles from your sources” section of the weekly email digests, ensuring members receive content that aligns with their interests and professional focus. Would you like to update your default sources? Learn more.
4. Add Your Group's News
Do you have a blog, Facebook or LinkedIn page, or news page on your website where you post updates for your members? Sosido can automatically integrate these into your community’s email digests. This ensures your news reaches your members through Sosido too—without any extra effort on your part. Learn more.
5. Celebrate Your Members' Success
Recognizing your members’ achievements fosters a supportive and encouraging community culture. When an important publication by your members appears in the Sosido digest, share the publication on social media. (Tag @Sosido, and we’ll help amplify your post.) We also encourage you to follow Sosido on LinkedIn where we feature the most-read articles in each of our communities each month—then repost on your own social media channels. This supports the authors and highlights the important research being done within your group. Did you see the most-read article in your community in 2024?
6. Get Answers
Most questions asked in your Sosido Q&A forum will be answered quickly by other members. But occasionally there's a tough one. If a member has asked a question in your group's Q&A forum, and it hasn't received any answers, give it a nudge: answer yourself, or reach out to a member or committee to ask for their help. Even something simple like "Good question, I don't have an answer for you right now but will dicuss with my colleagues” shows members that the community is active and willing to help. Consider implementing a system, like assigning a committee or members of the Board, to review and ensure every question in the Q&A receives at least one response. Learn more.
7. Host A Discussion
Remember that your Q&A forum isn’t just for spontaneous questions. Use it to host “ask-me-anything” sessions, journal clubs, or discussions on trending topics. Planning a question in advance and coordinating expert answers can spark valuable conversations. Even if only a small percentage of members actively participate, many will benefit from reading the discussion. Learn more.
8. Incorporate Sosido Into Your Meetings
Make Sosido an integral part of your group’s meetings. Use it to gather agenda items beforehand, or distribute minutes and collect feedback afterward. Encourage presenters to use Sosido to survey the community for insights which can be incorporated into their talks. This not only enriches your meetings but also drives engagement with the platform.
9. Promote Your Page
Did you know your community has its own dedicated page on Sosido? Branded with your logo, colours and unique url, it showcases your group’s work—see an example with CTTC’s page. Share your community page to raise awareness, highlight your members’ contributions, and strengthen your network. Learn more.
10. Dive Into The Data
Sosido can provide you with data to help guide your management decisions. Is the amount of research in your specialty increasing or decreasing over time? Who are the most prolific publishers in your group? Which members have expertise in Topic X? Who's most active in the Q&A? What topics are getting the most attention? In which journals do your members publish? How much of their research is open access? Are members participating equally across regions? We can provide that data, and more. Learn more.
These strategies can help your Sosido community thrive, fostering deeper connections and maximizing the benefits for your members. Want to learn more? Visit our FAQ section, follow us on LinkedIn or reach out to us for additional tips.
